These are some of the statements that people make going into unprotected sexual intercourse with the hope of using the natural methods of family planning. This methods can indeed prevent pregnancy hence they are family planning methods or contraceptives. However, the failure rate is high because of certain factors. 1. Withdrawal method
This method of contraception is practiced by males. Penetration is made but just when ejaculation is about to be attained, the penis is pulled out of the vagina or withdrawn. Another name for it is coitus interruptus.
The problem with this method is that it requires a great deal of discipline and self control. Some people make all the promises in the world to remove the penis or withdraw but when they have to do so, they can't help themselves but to ejaculate into the vagina. Then you hear statements like ''baby I'm sorry, I wanted to but my feelings failed me''.
Another angle of this method is the fact that during foreplay or romance, there is a fluid that comes before the semen. It is called the pre ejaculatory fluid or the pre cum. Even before penetration but in the process of foreplay, if you put your finger at the tip of the penis, you will touch this fluid. Though it is not suppose to have sperms in it, sometimes it does and can lead to pregnancy because even before you withdraw they may have been deposited into the vagina already.
Finally, using this method, even if you are successful in the first round, the situation becomes more riskier. This is because after the first ejaculation, there will be remnants or residues of sperms inside the urethra so as the next pre-cum arrives, it pushes these sperms into the vagina and can lead to pregnancy.
